Working out can seem like a chore no matter what the weather, but it can be especially difficult during the chilly, rainy winter months. Who wants to leave the cozy comfort of their favorite chair and blanket to go outside for a run or out to the gym?
If you want to avoid putting on extra weight over the winter season, you need to find a way to stay motivated! Here are four winter exercise tips to get you unstuck and on the move:
- Take advantage of the weather by taking up some seasonal sports. There is no rule that says fitness has to take place in a gym, so head to the slopes or to the ice skating rink.
- When you do go to the gym, don’t head for the same old machine, switch things up by trying something new.
- Break up your workout into smaller chunks. If you are having trouble getting motivated, try just a few minutes at separate intervals. This will give you an energy boost throughout the day.
